Can often be found: IN THE STUDIO! Doing what I love.. moving by way of Pilates, cycling, running, weight lifting, kayaking and playing with my kids. Also find me discussing life with Jeremy, asking (begging) Cole and Wynter to be nice to each other, enjoying healthy family meals, finished with a glass of wine (on weekends.. ok sometimes on a weekday too).

Teaching style: some suggest loud and maybe they’re right, lol but I consider my style as ‘contemporary’. I believe that we are all built uniquely, so it is important that my instruction to both private and group class clients be adaptable for all. Most importantly, I attempt to provide quality and functional movement instruction, in a motivating environment.

Favourite Pilates exercise: Push-up to Plank for hours – for a whole body workout in one move!

You’ll most likely hear me talk too much about: My family, they’re everything to me (my kids, my niece, my sister, my husband), friends, my dogs, overall health and MOVEMENT. I’m always in search of a new goal that achieves another level of  strength and accomplishment.  Above most, you’ll find me talking about the gift that is the Pure Pilates Community.  I cannot ever thank you enough for your ongoing loyalty and support.  I will continue to be of service as long as I can, LET’S KEEP MOVING, TOGETHER

Can often be found: Out and about walking the dog, spending time with family at the cottage, or hanging out with friends over some good food and drinks.

Teaching style: Depends on the day and what type of class I’m teaching… but I definitely enjoy some good tunes and an easy going vibe where laughter is always welcome.

Favourite Pilates exercise: Anything on the big stability ball for mat classes and feet in straps on the reformer.

Pilates and Yoga Instructor (RYT500, Yin & Restorative Certifications), Reiki Level 2

Hometown: Belleville, ON (aka Bell-Vegas), but I’ve been in Whitby for 25 years, so I guess I’m from here.

You can often find me: IN THE STUDIO! Every day. I do Pilates, Integrated Movement, Yoga, Weightlifting, Hiking.  Find me often in any of the amazing restaurants in Durham Region and Ottawa. Pilates helps me to do all the other exercising I want to do. Exercising allows me to EAT!

Teaching style: I like to inform, educate, and entertain. I’m so happy when I see a client “get it” and experience their own success in an exercise. I use the concepts from other disciplines to teach the precision of Pilates. I make group classes motivating and private classes personal. (Don’t be surprised if I walk around to watch movement in a class.)

Favourite Pilates exercise: Teaser.All day. I love the control. (I will add that I’m proud of myself for finally mastering plank and push-ups, two exercises I always felt I was “no good” at. I just needed someone to tell me how…)

You’ll most likely hear me talk too much about: My three amazing daughters and my 30-year partner in crime, my husband. Family is everything to us.

I’m always looking for a new goal that achieves another level of my physical strength and confirms that I can do anything I set my mind to. I believe that getting older is no reason to slow down. Ageism has no place in my world. I’ve been a member of the Pure Pilates community for about 7 years and have watched so many people work hard and consistently to achieve their goals. It’s wonderful to see their transformation.

Hometown: Pickering. Currently, I am living with my family in North Oshawa.

Can often be found:  teaching or participating in a class at Pure Pilates. I like to keep busy and on my feet.  In my downtime you can find me hanging out with my family playing board games, watching movies or hiking at Heber Downs.

Teaching Style: I always like to have a great playlist going in my classes. 

Favourite Pilates exercise: My favourite exercises are slow and controlled so I can really connect to my body.

Can often be found: If I’m not working you can find me spending time with my family, experimenting on my reformer or have a spa day with my daughter. 

Teaching Style: I can be perceived as quiet but don’t let that fool you.  My classes are mindful, medium paced, I love to change it up and try new things.  The class will be challenging but also a lot of fun.

Favourite Pilates Exercise: Difficult to pick a favourite but I would have to say the teaser.  I love anything that challenges your core and the teaser does that along with working the whole body.

Can often be found: In the forest, Pilates studio or eating a chocolate cake while watching Harry Potter. I also photograph a lot! I do wedding and engagement photography! I like going to Body Blitz in Toronto on my spare time to relax my muscles in the pools. 

Teaching style: Slow & controlled. I like my students to feel each and every part of their body. 

Favourite Pilates Exercise: I like all of them. I would say side-lying leg exercises. I just like the little burns I feel in my legs and tiny pulses.

You’ll most likely hear me talk too much about: chocolate cakes, food, cats or breathing exercises. You may even see me eating a chocolate cupcake while teaching.

Can often be found: Hiking, running, biking, walking the dogs and dragging my family with me as much as possible!  If I have to be inside you’ll find me on my mat, reading or hitting the drums!

Teaching style: I love classic pilates with some functional movements taken slow for the ultimate burn with some good ol’ cheesy jokes and giggles!

Favourite Pilates Exercise: Oh that’s a toughie, can I say all of them?  I guess if I had to choose it would be a tie between single leg stretch and side leg series!

You’ll most likely hear me talk too much about: My kids, my hilarious hubby who claims to hate people (I disagree), my cat & dog’s torrid love affair, travelling, coffee, music and concerts.

Hometown: Whitby (Toronto born)

Can often be found: Hanging with Jim and always shopping for my beautiful granddaughter MJ; or being entertained by Stevie and Jagger (our fur babies).

Teaching style: Calm and gentle. I love putting class playlists together with the best music I can find to guide you through a mindful practise.

Favourite Yoga Pose:Pigeon pose which is also known as Swan in YIN yoga – Fantastic pose and the most effective, deep hip stretch. A class with a deep YIN stretch like Swan is extremely beneficial to maintaining a strong body.

Teaching style: I believe every body is a Pilates body.  I love slow  and controlled movements to a curated playlist of mostly hip-hop and R&B  to help you power through your session.

Hometown: Aurora, ON. Living in Oshawa, ON since 2005.

Can often be found: At PurePilates studio, hiking with my dog or visiting dog parks, spending time with my family, volunteering for a non-profit charity teaching trauma informed yoga and playing volleyball.

Teaching style: It is always evolving!  I have 16 years of experience from the medical profession as I have always loved learning about the human body.  I love blending all my knowledge with The Pilates Method and Integrated Movement Therapy into my classes.  I strive to do my best to help individuals to fully understand not only what they are practicing, but how and why.  I believe this provides an opportunity for everyone to explore their own unique experiences in their body and deepen their understanding of the mind-body connection.  My classes are a great place to come and have a fun! You will cleanse your body through sweating and through the movement principle called Breath Support.  This principle guides us into our breath and into the synchronization of breath and movement.  I will always do my best to help you leave class feeling happy, supported, motivated for next time and proud of yourself for showing up!  We can do hard things, even on the days that seem impossible!

Favourite Pilates Exercise: Teaser and plank!

You’ll most likely hear me talk too much about: Pilates, my goldendoodle dog Lucy, my four beautiful nieces, my family, friends and the beautiful community of Pure Pilates! I am forever grateful I walked into this studio, it has been a life changing experience and a big part of my own healing journey. We are all recovering from something.
